Good morning, everybody!Today,PYG will share two methods for adjusting the gap between the slides. In order to ensure the normal operation of the linear guide, appropriate clearance should be maintained between the sliding surfaces of the linear guide. Too small clearance will increase the friction, and too large clearance will reduce the guiding accuracy. For this reason, inserts and platens are often used to adjust the clearance of linear guides.
- Guide shoe gib.
The insert is used to adjust the side clearance of the rectangular linear guide rail and the dovetail linear guide rail to ensure the normal contact of the surface of the linear guide rail. The insert should be placed on the side with less force of the linear guide rail. There are two common types of flat and wedge inserts. It adjusts the clearance by adjusting the position of the screw to move the insert. After the clearance is adjusted, the insert is fastened to the moving linear guide rail with screws. The flat insert is easy to adjust and easy to manufacture, but the insert is thin, and it is only stressed at a few points in contact with the screw, easy to deform, and the stiffness is low. Common wedge insert. The two faces of the insert are in uniform contact with the moving linear guide and the static linear guide respectively, and the clearance is adjusted by its longitudinal displacement, so the stiffness is higher than that of the flat insert, but the processing is slightly difficult. The slope of the wedge insert is 1:100-1:40, and the longer the insert, the smaller the slope should be, so as not to have too large a difference in thickness between the two ends. The adjustment method is to use the adjusting screw to drive the insert to move longitudinally to adjust the gap. The groove on the insert is finished after scraping. This method is simple in construction, but the gap between the shoulder of the screw head and the groove on the insert will cause the insert to flutter in motion. The adjustment method is adjusted from both ends with screws 5, avoiding the movement of the insert, and the performance is better. Another method is to adjust the insert by screws and nuts, and the round holes in the insert are machined after scraping. This method is easy to adjust and can prevent the movement of the insert, but the longitudinal dimension is slightly longer.
2.Pressure plate
The pressure plate is used to adjust the clearance of the auxiliary linear guide surface and withstand the overturning moment. The structure is to adjust the clearance by grinding or scraping the plate surface. The face of the pressure plate is separated by an empty slot. Grind or scrape the surface when the gap is large, and grind or scrape the surface when the gap is too small. This method has simple structure and more applications, but the adjustment is more difficult, and is suitable for occasions where the adjustment is not often, the linear guide has good wear resistance or the clearance has little effect on the accuracy. The gap can also be adjusted by changing the thickness of the gasket between the pressure plate and the joint surface. The gasket is made of a number of thin copper sheets stacked together, one side is solder, adjusted as needed to increase or decrease. This method is more convenient than scraping or grinding the plate, but the adjustment amount is limited by the thickness of the gasket, and the contact stiffness of the joint surface is reduced.
As long as the linear guide is installed on the mounting surface of milling or grinding processing, the processing density of the linear guide can be reproduced in a certain step, and the time and cost of traditional processing can be reduced. And its interchangeable characteristics, the slider can be arbitrarily installed on the same type of slide rail, while maintaining the same smoothness and precision, the machine assembly is the easiest, maintenance is also the easiest.
